  1. Project 01Continuously evolving2026

    Secretaria IEL

Offline, multi-user school management system with zero dependencies

From scattered spreadsheets to one offline, auditable system

The office of a school with around 535 students, from preschool to high school, ran on loose spreadsheets and documents spread across several systems. On my own initiative, I built a local web app: one PC acts as the server, the others connect through the browser, and everything works offline.

  2. Project 02In daily use2026

    PDF Renamer

    Automatic, content-based document classification

    3× more documents a day

Imports PDFs in batches, classifies each one by its content (OCR + keywords, integrated with the Anthropic API), suggests a standardized name and saves it straight into the student's folder. The office uses it every day.

    Sistema Hemocentro

Blood bank management with trigger-driven inventory

Inventory consistency enforced by the database itself

A UMC team project (3 people). I implemented the DAO layer and the MySQL triggers that keep inventory per blood type up to date automatically, across Patient, Donor, Donation and Inventory modules.

Offline, zero-dependency system for an elderly care home

Requested by management: a system for the elderly care home run by the same institution, where records are still kept by hand. It reuses the Secretaria IEL engine (encrypted backups, one-button updates, audit trail) and already covers residents, a per-shift team log, scheduling, inventory, prescriptions with a medication chart, and vaccines. Requirements are still being validated, and all testing uses fictional data.

Medication: each dose slot can only be checked once, preventing double doses

    • Built a web tool (HTML/JS, OCR) that classifies and renames school documents: processing a class (~200 documents) went from 3 days to 1 at most, with an editable keyword dictionary and per-department profiles.
    • Organized and standardized the records of 545 students with document-classification workflows, reducing filing errors.
    • On my own initiative, built a full management system for the office.
    • Wrote official communications to families and the teaching staff.

README

About

I study Software Engineering at UMC and have been working since I was 17. Today I'm an apprentice in a school's administrative office, and that's where I found the problem that changed how I learn: documents sorted and renamed by hand, one class at a time. I built a tool that reads each file and does it automatically. The team adopted it, and a class that took 3 days now takes 1 at most.

On my own initiative, I then started a full management system for the office: offline, multi-user, zero external dependencies, with data privacy built in from day one. AI is part of how I engineer. I pair with Claude and Claude Code, and I write handoff docs and continuation prompts, which is exactly why Harness Engineering interests me.

I studied English in Malta, which unlocked my fluency. I've led project teams, and I study every day: coding challenges, AWS and two bootcamps. TODO(kevin): how you got into programming (1–2 sentences) and what you enjoy outside tech.
